Norman Seamon Strange

February 20, 1922 — June 29, 2015

Norman S. Strange (born 1922) passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Joan Strange and is survived by his 6 children (Mary Joan Hammett, Joe Strange, Diane E. Thornton, Dan Strange, Johnny Strange, Marjorie Looney), 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Norman was orphaned at 4 years old and grew up at his beloved Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth, where he played football for the famous Mighty Mites featured in the book, Twelve Mighty Orphans. He served as an Army Captain in WW II, graduated from Texas A&M and had a long career as a CPA. Most importantly, he was a man of quiet strength, great charity and faith who loved his family with all of his heart and showed it with his actions throughout his entire life.

Arrangements for Mr. Norman Strange: Greet family followed by Rosary: Wednesday 6-8 p.m. Eastgate Funeral Home 1910 Eastgate Drive Garland, Tx 75041. Memorial Mass: Thursday 2:00 p.m. Holy Trinity Catholic Church 3811 Oaklawn, Dallas, Tx 75219. Reception to follow location available by request.
