Norma Jean Mote, age 84 joined her beloved husband of 51 years in heaven on December 4, 2018. Norma was born on May 15, 1934, to Troy and Lola Spradlin. She grew up in Conway, Arkansas with her parents and two brothers, Jerry and Kenneth Spradlin.
Norma married her husband, George Howard Mote on January 31, 1964, in Denton, TX. In the early years of their marriage, they made their home in Allen, TX where Norma supported her husband in his career and delighted in raising their children as well as work in their church, First Baptist Allen.
As life moved on and their children started families George and Norma moved to their final home together in Princeton, TX. Here Norma delighted in country life complete with tall trees, ponds and baking her husband pecan pie and making homemade ice cream for the grandkids. She served faithfully as a member of First Baptist Princeton. In the last few years of her life, Norma made her home at Canton Oaks, in Canton, TX where she awaited the day she would be reunited with George.
Norma loved family and her life would not have been complete without all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents Lola and Troy Spradlin and her dear husband, George Howard Mote. She is survived by both her brothers: Jerry Spradlin and Kenneth Spradlin. And her children: Mike and Martha Burling, Janet Burling and Mike Leoni, as well as George's children: Teresa Grimes, Becky and Jaime Lopez, Alan Mote, Danny, and Jeanette Mote, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While children and stepchildren are separate here, Norma and George never saw the difference. All they ever saw was family.
If Norma's life could be summed up in a single line then it would say this: The love of family is life's greatest blessing.
