Norma Nora Bradley

Norma Nora Bradley, 88, of Dallas, Texas passed away Thursday, December 11, 2015 at Senior Care of Lakepointe/Becon Harbor in Rockwell, Texas Norma was born in Frankston, Texas and moved to Dallas with her mother in the early 40's. Norma graduated from North Dallas High School in 1944. Norma also graduated from Fields Beauty School in Dallas and was a beautician at Partricia's Beauty Salon across from North Dallas High School for several years, and was a lifelong beautician. She retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and at a time worked for Texas Instruments.

Norma was the last of eleven children born to William and Docia Groom. She was born in Frankston, TX on June 21, 1926. Until her death, Norma was the only surviving child remaining. Her childhood years were spent in the Frankston, Rusk, Athens and Palestine area. At fourteen years old, Norma, her sister Faye and her mother moved to Dallas to live with her sister Floy and her husband Joe Jung. Shortly after graduating High School, Norma married Gene T. Bradley on 23 July, 1944. Gene and Norma remained in Dallas and raised a family of 3 boys and 1 girl. In March of 1959 Gene and Norma made their final move with the family to the house on Delmar Street in which they attended Ridge Crest Baptist Church and Wilshire Baptist Church over the years. In July of 1994, Norma and Gene celebrated their 50th anniversary. Norma is preceded in death by her husband of fifty three years, Gene Thornton Bradley. Norma stayed at the Delmar house and attended Wilshire Baptist Church until she became too weak to manage the property, at which time she moved in with her daughter Lisa and son-in-law Joe. She attended the South Garland Baptist Church with Lisa and Joe.

Norma is survived by three sons and one daughter, Garry E. Bradley and wife Lynn Bradley of Abilene, TX, Alan L. Bradley and wife Anne, of Mesquite, TX, Randy W. Bradley and wife Donna, of Garland TX, and Lisa F. Cavanaugh and husband Joseph, Jr. of Sachse, TX; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Amber Crutchfield and husband David, Jason Bradley, Angela Oliver and husband Nick, Amanda Krempl and husband Keith, Chloe Bradley, Christy Curtis and husband Jason, Joseph and his wife Stephanie and 5 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Audrey, Caleb, Caylee, and Whitney.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15,2014 at 11:30am, at South Garland Baptist Church located at 1330 E. Centerville Road, Garland, Texas with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. A small graveside service will follow at Restland Cemetery of Dallas, Texas, located at 13005 Greenville Ave. By her request, there will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, Norma has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
