Nola Mae Harbison

Nola Mae Harbison, age 92 of Rowlett, TX, passed away January 1, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 8, 1924 in Garland, TX to Dewey Earnest and Luvenia A. (Willeford) Lynch. Nola married Jack N. Harbison on June 23, 1942 in Garland, TX. They were married for 70 years before Jack’s passing. She worked as an insurance underwriter for 35 years, was a member of the First at Firewheel Church in Garland, and she enjoyed crocheting and knitting baby blankets and afghans.


Nola is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Rae Ferguson; son, Lloyd N. Harbison and wife, Marolyn; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; granddaughter, Crissy Pistorius; brother, Elmer Lynch; and sister, Mary Puckett.


Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at First at Firewheel, 5500 Lavon Dr., Garland, TX 75040, with Rev. E. Wayne Hanks officiating. Interment will follow at Sachse Cemetery.
