Naomi Jean McCoy was born on May 18, 1943, in Live Oak, Florida, to parents Francis Malcom "Mutt" and Nomie Lee (Robinson) Lanier. She passed away on July, 24, 2013 in Garland, Texas. Naomi grew up in Live Oak, Florida and San Antonio, Texas. She was a housewife and retired from Wal-Mart after 17 years. She is survived by her son, Carl Crittenden and wife Cheryl of Lavon, Texas; daughter, Crystal Boyd of Martinsburg, West Virginia; stepson James McCoy and wife Gwen of Venus, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three step brothers, Harry Morris and wife Rosemary of San Antonio, Texas; Leroy Morris of San Antonio, Texas, Bernard Morris of Modesto, California, numerous other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband, William McCoy; son, Donald Eugene Goode Jr; parents, Frances Malcom "Mutt" Lanier and Nomie Lee (Robinson) Lanier; stepmothers, Doris Lanier and Vera Lanier. Viewing at 9 am at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, Texas proceeded by Graveside service at 11 am at Garland Mills Cemetery on Centerville Road in Garland, Texas. Immediately following graveside service, family will gather to celebrate her life at On the Border, 1315 Northwest Hwy, Garland, Texas 75041. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Venus Special Olympics Texas, 208 N. Hickory St, Venus, Texas 76084.
