Nancy Lou Stanley - sister, aunt, neighbor, friend - died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 26, 2022, after a three-year battle with cancer.
Nancy was born on November 23, 1942 in Dallas, Texas. She lived in Dallas all her life, graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University - Commerce) in Commerce, Texas. She was a secretary for several companies.
Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church, Garland, Texas for 25 years where she enjoyed working with children in Bible School and KAMP. Nancy enjoyed many years camping in her RV with Betty and close friends. She loved building and setting up her model railroad train display. She loved her fur babies Max and Inky.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, W.A. (Stan) Stanley, Jr and Elizabeth Ann Thomas Stanley.
,She is survived by: her identical twin sister and caregiver, Betty Stanley; her brother, Buddy Stanley; her niece, Sherri Matney; and her great-nephew, Joshua Matney.
A Memorial service will be held at 2PM on March 26, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, 801 West Avenue B, Garland, Texas. A reception will follow the service.
Nancy's family wishes to express their appreciation to her close friends that were with her in her final days and caregivers: Kemi, TG, Charlotte, and Chaplain John Abraham of Rejoice Hospice. Also, Dr. Marina Vengalil, Dr. Peter Frenkel and Dr. Jairo Olivares.
