Nancy Ann Howell

Nancy Ann Short Howell was born August 31, 1934 in Ennis, Texas (Ellis County) to James Loy Short & Ruby Viola Bullard Short and passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on March 23, 2021.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Gaines "Pete" Howell; mother, Ruby Bullard Short; father, James Loy Short; brother, Thomas Loy Short; and brother, Billy Wayne Short.
She is survived by her nieces Deborah Short Newton of Norman, Oklahoma and Sandra Short Hicks and husband Gerald Hicks of McKinney, Texas; nephews, Michael Short of Tyler, Texas and Thomas Loy Short, Jr., of Mena, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Laura "Lolly" Taylor and husband Cecil Taylor of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, Tod Taylor, Shannon Taylor Neal, and Lance Taylor; sister-in-laws, Bonnie Short and Gloria Short; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren
Nancy will be remembered by her sweet and caring nature, her love for her family, and talking about family history and funny stories from the past. She worked many years as a bank teller, back when everything was done by hand and no computers. Later in life, she was a clerk for a judge and loved it too. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
