Nancy Lee Dail

Nancy L Dail of McKinney, Texas passed away August 12, 2019, at the age of 80. She was born December 10, 1938 to Herman Findley and Alta (Clayton) Carmalita in Rock Island, Illinois. Nancy met Wallace in Chicago while he was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Station and married him shortly thereafter on July 23, 1955, in Winterville, North Carolina. She and Dail were members of the Paso Fina Horse Association and avid bridge players. Nancy was a lifelong member and past president of P.E.O., a philanthropic organization committed to helping women pursue higher education. She also had quite the green thumb, growing beautiful african violets, orchids, and roses which were her favorite.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Edward Dail and wife Anne of Sunrise Beach, Texas and Thad Dail and wife Julie of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Dail and wife Katie of Owasso, Oklahoma, Rebecca Castro and husband Jim of Allen, Texas, and Robert Whitley of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Austin Pann-Dail, Chase Dail, Haddie Dail, Ariyana Castro, and Christian Castro; and brother, Ray Neal and sister Kathy Dean.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 61 years, Wallace Edward Dail; daughter, Deborah Lynn Dail; and parents.
In her last years, Nancy resided at Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch Senior Living. The family wishes to thank those wonderful caregivers for the love and attention given to her.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday August 25, 2019 at Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch Senior Living, 1650 S. Stonebridge Dr, McKinney, Texas 75070. Inurnment will be at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, Texas at a later date.
