Nancy Ann Brettingen, age 62 of Lucas, Texas passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born on October 29, 1960 in Burlington, Iowa to Robert and Gail (Cheney) Beebe. She graduated from Moon Valley high School in Phoenix, Arizona in 1979. Nancy was united in marriage to Stewart Brettingen on April 27, 1984 at Bethany Bible Church in Phoenix. The couple lived in Glendale, AZ, Hudson, WI and Urbandale, IA before moving to the Dallas area in 1998. Their union was blessed with two daughters. Nancy worked in the financial services technology industry as a Business Analyst, retiring from Fiserv in 2022.
Nancy loved her family dearly and showed her love through her kind spirit, and her devoted and unwavering support of her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She was a kind and generous soul whose warm personality and sense of humor made her a joy to be around. She possessed a strong and personal faith throughout her life. Nancy enjoyed traveling, camping, needlework, and quilting. She never passed up an opportunity to play hostess or bake elaborate cakes for her family’s weddings and birthdays. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their many ballgames and school events.
Nancy is survived by her husband Stewart; daughters Amy (Brad) Hribar, and Lindsey (Mike) Fehr both of Lavon, TX; mother Gail Beebe of Sun City, AZ; sister Sue (John) Bennett of Walport, OR; brother David (Shannon) Beebe of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren Hudson and Harper Hribar, and Easton, Landon and Payton Fehr and many extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Robert.
A funeral service for Nancy will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 6th at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2343 Lake Rd. & Hwy. 78, Lavon, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to MD Anderson Melanoma Cancer Center.
