Our precious Mother, Myra Maxine Williams, went to be with our Father on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Maxine also was a beloved grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She started her life in Red River County, Texas, on November 2, 1933, and she graduated in 1951 from Hooks High School. She moved to Dallas and worked as a secretary for Republic Bank until she married Alvin Williams in 1957. They moved several times with his job at Otis Elevators for a few years until returning to the Dallas area to buy a home and raise their four children and many pets together.
Maxine loved being the heart of our family as caregiver, first line of support and fun director while we were growing up. For as seriously as she took her responsibilities, she also instilled in her family an enduring sense of playfulness and joy. And as she was served the inevitable course of aging and declining health, Maxine developed another super power to face these challenges – her huge, radiant smile, which she generously continues to bestow upon us in our hearts and memories of Maxine.
Maxine is survived by her children, Deborah, Gary, Vicki and Daryl, as well as her sister, Bobbie Andrews, 7 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Maxine will be private for family members only. Friends wishing to honor Maxine are invited to make a donation in her name to the American Heart Association.
