Morris Lynn Johnson

June 9, 1940 — October 25, 2017

Morris Lynn Johnson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully after a brief illness at home in Garland, TX with his wife and daughters by his side on October 25, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, M.L. and Lasca Johnson.



Morris is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Johnson, and daughters Mollie Dirck of Austin, TX and Julie Strohl and husband Keith of Newport Beach, CA, grandchildren, Jason Lang and wife Tori, Brian Lang, Andrew Strohl and Hannah Strohl and great grandson, Nicholas Lang. Other survivors include family members, Joe Bennett, Doug & Sandy Bennett, Jimmie Hannan, Wendy and Gary Day, Vicki and David Bunch, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.



He was born in Greenville, TX on June 9, 1940. Morris graduated from Garland High School in 1958 and attended TCU. He served in the U.S. Army and the Texas National Guard. He retired from Dun & Bradstreet after a 36+ year career. Morris was a Master Mason, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and a member of the Syrian Temple of Cincinnati, Ohio.



Morris loved spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger, never forgot a name and always knew how to make someone feel special. His priceless sense of humor will be remembered by all. Many lives have been enriched by just knowing Morris.



Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 3rd, at 2:00 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, TX.
