Monroe "M.L." Todd

d. July 12, 2019

M.L Todd passed away on July 12, 2019, doing what he loved; traveling across Texas and enjoying the outdoors. While on a trip to west Texas, he and his friend Jewel were in a car accident. Unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries and was welcomed into Heaven after a life well lived. He loved the Lord and had a servant's heart.

M.L was born on July 1, 1928, to Lee and Mary Todd. Raised the majority of his life here in Garland, TX, he graduated in 1946 from Garland High. He worked at Ferris Watson Seed in downtown Garland while in high school, was drafted into the Army and was a Korean War veteran. He worked for Lone Star Gas then joined the Richardson Fire Department. He retired in 1989 as Fire Marshal after 28 years of service. He was married to his love, Laura "T" (Talley) for over 61 years until she passed in 2012. M.L is survived by his daughter; Pamela Baker and husband Michael; grandchildren; April Alaniz and husband Alan; Corley Todd and wife Lori; Brandon Baker and wife Debra; and Casey Todd and wife Sarah. Great-grandchildren; Peyton and Kenslee Alaniz; Talley and Tyson Baker; Mikaela Funderburk; Ryan and Allison Todd; Nicholas Noel, and Axel Todd. Sister; Mildred Pittman; special grandchildren; Laura Hutchison and Stephanie Ingram; special friend Jewel Marie Scott; many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his Big Springs Baptist Church family.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Laura; son; Mark Todd; parents; Lee and Mary Todd; brothers; Paul, Bill, and Delbert Todd; and sister; Louise Hunt Wagoner.

Pallbearers: Michael Baker, Casey Todd, Alan Alaniz, Ryan Todd, Brandon Baker, Tyson Baker, Corley Todd, and Nicholas Noel.

For a man with a bad physical heart, he had a huge spiritual heart. He loved God and served Jesus with every ounce of his body. He never met a stranger and often invited people in for breakfast. He would invite everyone to his church, Big Springs Baptist in Garland. He will be greatly missed and although a void is left, we can rejoice that he is in the arms of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

DO YOU KNOW JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR?

The Todd family would like to thank for the support during this time, and request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Big Springs Baptist Church Building Fund in M.L.'s name.

Services officiated by Pastor Greg Oppenhuis and Chaplain Lt. Colonel Harold Mills, United States Army, (retired).
