Mira Winborn Bailey departed this life in the early hours of July 28, 2022, in McKinney, Texas. It was her wish to be at home with loved ones present and hospice care made this possible.
Mira was born December 12, 1931, to Hiram and Louise (Rowland) Winborn in Ashland, Mississippi. She married James Edward Bailey in Tunica, Mississippi on February 24, 1951, and they were married for 57 years. Both attended Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tennessee, and Mira graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for many years.
Mira and Jim loved to travel and spent over 25 years taking cruises around the world. They visited every continent except Antarctica at least once. They lived in Brussels, Belgium for two years. There were also many trips in the United States to visit the national parks, family and numerous other places. Mira enjoyed playing bridge, duplicate bridge and all games and especially liked visiting the casino.
Mira was predeceased by husband Jim and is survived by daughter Janice Bailey Honea (Jim, deceased) of McKinney and son Steve Bailey (Gina) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, sister Bobbie Winborn Fletcher (Howard) of Pensacola, Florida.
Memorials may be sent in Mira's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
