Mickey Lynn Dixon

November 10, 1957 — September 23, 2022

Our hearts are broken as we share the news that our rock, professional nap taker, random dancer, scooter racer and master fisherman, Mickey Lynn Dixon passed away peacefully at home on September 23 2022.

Mickey was born on November 10, 1957 in Kaufman, TX to George Edwin Dixon and Marilyn Jean Rhodes, an only brother to five sisters, who all idolized him and knew he did no wrong.

On July 8, 1978 he married Kathryn Lee Odom in Dallas, TX. He and Kathy began and raised their family in Mesquite, TX and then later moved to Princeton to be closer to his sisters….imagine that! He worked as an electrician up until his retirement in 2013.

Mickey was selfless, worked hard for his family and loved even harder. If you called on him, he would be there no matter the day or time. If he had something you needed to "borrow", it was yours. He'd just go buy another one if he needed it. But he also didn't back down. Mickey was fierce and a fighter and wasn't afraid to take up for those that couldn't take up for themselves.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathy Dixon; son John Dixon and wife Hope of Princeton, TX and Jared Dixon and wife Lindsey of Gilbertsville, KY. Six grandchildren; Kaylee, Alyssa and Jayce Dixon of Princeton, TX; Payton, Jaycob, and Brynlee Dixon of Gilbertsville, KY. Sisters Leta Gaddis and husband Wayne of Bristol, TX, Delores Glover and husband Rickey of Princeton, TX, Shelia Lockhart and husband Robert of McKinney, TX and Becky Welborn and husband Stephen of Princeton, TX and brother-in-law Mark Odom and wife Terri of Rockwall, TX. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mickey was preceded in death by his father George Dixon, mother Jean Rowan and sister Marilyn Dixon.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 29 at 10:00 am followed by graveside service at Payne Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
