Michael James Petrone

Michael James Petrone died on Monday, January 10th, 2021. He was 73 when he passed to COPD. He was born in New York, New York on November 26th to Michael and Regina Petrone. He enlisted on October 23rd, 1967 and was discharged October 22nd, 1971 as SP5 in the United States Military. He worked as a jack of all trades and was a business owner. Michael married his wife, JoAnn Petrone on December 30th, 1970. They had two children, Michael and Tina. Michael loved to cook, and made the best New York cheesecake, on top of many other wonderful Italian dishes. Another favorite of his daughter's is Italian hot dogs. Michael also loved his dogs, and had many over the span of his life.

His last residence was in Richardson, Texas, where he moved with his wife and two children around 1978.

Michael's life is survived and honored by his wife, JoAnn, as well as his son and daughter, Michael Petrone and Tina Van Hecke. His son has two children: Aaron and Alec Petrone, and Tina has three children: Danielle, Natalie, and Joshua Van Hecke.

Michael James Petrone ("PopPop" to his grandchildren) was a wonderful man, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons 2925 5th St., Sachse, Texas 75048.

Followed by a Graveside Service on Wednesday, Janaury 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
