Michael Joseph D'Augustine

Michael Joseph D'Augustine, 25, of Mesquite, Texas passed away Saturday, February 10th, 2018. He is survived by his father, John D'Augustine and two brothers, Brain D'Augustine and Daniel D'Augustine.He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy D'Augustine.Michael was born on July 29th, 1992 in Dallas, Texas to John and Judy D'Augustine. Growing up in Mesquite, Texas, he attended Mesquite High School where he graduated in 2010. While there, Michael became very involved with the Technology Student Association which would lead him to attend the University of Texas at Dallas and pursue a degree in the field of Computer Science. He would graduate from UTD in 2015 with a BS in Computer Science and immediately begin working in his chosen field becoming a Junior Software Developer.Michael loved science and technology, and was always interested in reading about new developmentsin those fields. This interest started at an early age when he got so curious about how electricity worked that, while pulling a plug in and out multiple times, burned off his thumbnail. As he got older he would continue to show great interest in how and why different things worked the way they did. Later in life, he developed a big interest in learning the German language. Because of this, he would sponsor three exchange students from Germany throughout high school. Michael would eventually travel to Germany himself for a summer where he met many friends that he would stay in contact with through the years.Even though he was only with us for a short time, he left a lasting mark on many people and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at the Eastgate Funeral Home. 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, Texas 75041 on Thursday, February 15th. from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, February 17th, 11:00am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 950 Trails Pkwy, Garland, TX 75043 with Father Joseph A. Mehan, Jr. officiating.
