Michael Lee Armstrong, 68, of Garland, TX, died on May 7, 2019.
Michael was born on August 14, 1950 in Wichita Falls, TX to his parents, Ralph and Laberta Armstrong. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Accounting in 1972. He married Janis Hall of San Angelo, TX in 1972. They settled in the Dallas area where Michael worked as a CPA for Haskins & Sells, the Windsor Companies, and Health Texas Provider Network, where he worked up until his passing.
Michael enjoyed traveling with family and friends, cooking for others, being involved at church, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. He was a kind, easy- going man who loved a good time and always had a smile on his face.
Michael is survived by his wife of 46 years Janis Armstrong; his daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Robert Lyons of Murphy, TX; his daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Chris Hall of Leonard, TX; his daughter and son-in-law Molly and Steve Oltmanns of Dallas, TX; his twin brother and sister-in-law Mitchell and Cathy Armstrong of Sachse, TX; his brother Mark Armstrong of Plano, TX; his sister Ruth Ann Armstrong of Dallas, TX; and six grandchildren Abby Lyons, J.R. Lyons, Kaley Oltmanns, Jordan Hall, Claire Oltmanns, and Michael Lyons. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Laberta Armstrong; and his brother, Sonny Armstrong.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 13th, 2019 at 3:00pm at First Christian Church Garland with Rev. Dr. Dan Jones officiating. The family would like to visit with friends and family immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
The family is thankful for the wonderful care that Michael received from the doctors, nurses, and staff at Texas Oncology and Baylor Heart Hospital of Plano.
