Merlin Keith Osborn

Ozzie retired in 1987 from E-Systems (Raytheon) Garland after 26 years of service. He was a Supervisor in the Manufacturing Department. Ozzie was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being a member of the E-Systems Fishing Club. His favorite lake was Lake Cypress Springs, and in early years he enjoyed camping, canoeing and fishing in the Brazos River.

Ozzie is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Gayle (Hennig) Osborn, daughter Lori Ann Shewbirt and husband Paul, son David Michael Osborn and wife Valerie, grandchildren Ryan Osborn and wife Lauren, Olivia Shewbirt, Hope Osborn, Rebekah Potter, and five great-grand children.

Ozzie and Barbara recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. They were married February 18, 1972 at First Baptist Church in Rowlett by Rev. Preston Bryan.

Ozzie was preceded in death by parents Keith and Ada Osborn, sister Donna Roach, son Randy Osborn and baby daughter Rebecca Osborn.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 12 at 11:00 AM with Memorial Service following at 12:00 Noon at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home in Sachse, with interment immediately following the service at Sachse Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Nguyen, Rejoice Hospice, Ariel Pointe Memory Care, and Monarch Senior Home Care for taking loving care of Ozzie. A special thanks is given to Christina McRae for the love, care, and friendship she gave to Ozzie and Barbara. We would also like to thank the Sachse EMS, Fire and Police Departments for attending to Ozzie's medical and safety needs this past year.
