Maurito G. Navalta passed away at 5:53 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 after a week spent in the Methodist Richardson Medical Center's intensive care unit.
Maurito was born in the Philippines to Torobia and Mauro Gonong on July 26, 1931.
After a naval career that lasted for over 2 decades, he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer and worked at the United States Postal Service for 30 years.
Maurito leaves behind a loving wife, Rebecca L. Navalta, and six surviving children. From his first marriage, Maurito has four children; the eldest, Tony Navalta, is married to his wonderful wife Christine and they have one child, Sophie, together. Mardon Navalta, the second eldest, is currently married to his lovely wife, Jesse, and has two children, Shelby and Christina. Christina is married to Adam Dwiggins. The third son, Mark Navalta, is married to his splendid wife Beth, and they have two sons: Connor and Carson. Nonna, the youngest by his first marriage, is married to Guy Russell, with their one son, Ryan. Maurito's two children by Rebecca are Rosario-Marie and Rupe-Nanielle. Maurito also leaves behind a legacy of loving animals including, but not exclusive to: Frisky, the Rabid Dog, Buddy, ChiChi, Eros and every single stray cat on Serenade Lane.
The viewing will be on Saturday, June 15, from 10 AM to 4 PM, and will be located at Charles W. Smith and Sons funeral home in Sachse (2925 Fifth Street). The funeral will be Monday, June 17, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Parish (600 S. Jupiter Road).
