On June 19, 2020, Mary Ann Solano passed away at home with family at her side. She was born on May 17, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Mary and Antonio Russo. She graduated from Evander Childs High School in the Bronx, and married Raymond L. Solano Jr. ("Skippy") in 1955. Her immense love and intuition for floral design led to owning a small business in Virginia. Later, she moved into interior design while living in San Diego. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond L. Solano Jr., originally of Mount Vernon, New York, her son, Raymond L. Solano III and his wife Barbara of Austin, Texas; her daughter, Mary Ann Rallo and her husband Salvatore of McKinney, Texas; her five grandchildren: Alexandria Solano of Austin, Texas; Nicholas Rallo of Dallas, Texas; Austin Solano of Aledo, Texas; Salvatore Rallo of Dallas, Texas; and Madison Solano of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren: Riley and Reagan Kennedy, and Claire and Raymond L. Solano IV (Quade).
Mary Ann and Skippy relocated from Richmond, Virginia to McKinney, Texas in July, 1998. Mary Ann had a long and fulfilling life, and enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, gardening, and cooking.
She will be resting at Restland Cemetary in the Garden of Whispering Waters: 12005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75243, at 2:30 p.m. on June 22, 2020.
