Mary Lee Wilkerson

Mary was born on March 3, 1935 in Lufkin, Texas and attended the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin. She met and married her first husband, Charles Bradford in 1956. She married Howard Wilkerson in 1969 to whom she was devoted until his death in 2004.

Mary lived in California and Tennessee, but called Texas her home for most of her life. She was a homemaker and loving mother who took great pride in caring for her family. She was a talented artist who also enjoyed cooking and interior decorating.

She is survived by her children, Bill Bradford of Pearce, AZ, Betty Owings of Wylie, TX, Jean Lister of Mobile, AL and her grandchildren, Brad and Amy Owings, Avery and Robby Lister and great-grandson, Carson Bradley. She is also survived by her brother, Lynwood Bennett of Meadowlakes, TX. She was preceded in death by her son, Howie Wilkerson.

The family would also like to thank Barbara Cody and the staff at Hinton Home who so lovingly and compassionately cared for Mary during the last two years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
