Mary Wiggins

Mary Eleanor Curry Wiggins, the second child of Guy and Effie Curry was born 3 August 1923 in Joplin Missouri.

Mary was orphaned at the age of 10 and raised by her elderly Aunt Mary Hill. When Aunt Mary died, she and her brother George were raised by several relatives.

Mary went to Nursing School during WWII and became an RN. After the war she married Charles Wiggins (later divorced) and had three children – all born on 14 November. Pat and Mike were twins and Cathy was born on their 6th birthday.

The family moved to the Dallas are in 1952. Mary worked all of her life and retired as a Nursing Home Administrator for the Independent Order of Foresters in 1989. Upon retirement Mary returned to the Dallas area to be near her family. She was a loving and caring person always taking the best interest of all those around her. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making the family Christmas Stockings. After retirement she began quilting with Cathy and made many beautiful quilts, entering some in the State Fair of Texas. Mary's family was most important to her and she loved family gatherings and visits. Christmas was always a special time of year for her.

Mary was preceded in death by her son Mike on 5 June 2019. Mary is survived by her daughters Pat Webber (George) and Cathy Teff (Chuck), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mary went to be with the Lord on 18 August 2019. She is loved and missed.
