Mary Virginia Whitten

Mary Virginia Whitten, 92, a long time resident of Mesquite, TX, passed away on April 24, 2020. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was born on January 11, 1928 in Peoria, Illinois to her father Edward James Vermillion and mother Nellie Fry Vermillion. She was married to her late husband Hubert Woodrow Whitten for 43 years and was widowed in 1989.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker, but did her part during WW II by working at Sand Point Naval Air Station in Seattle as a civilian aircraft repairer.
Her sons Dr. Glenn Whitten and his wife Kathleen of Frisco, TX and Don Whitten and his wife Patrice of Rockwall, TX, 9 grand children and 6 great grand children survive her.
She left her family with a legacy of love, support and wisdom.
