Mary Jane Wagner

Mary Jane (Martin) Wagner, age 73 of Princeton, TX, died peacefully at her home on Monday, January 8, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on October 2, 1944 in Childress, TX to Travis and Ann (Martinez) Martin.


Mary Jane was a very charismatic lady and has performed many hours of volunteer work for Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, YMCA programs, and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Neighborhood Crime Watches for 48 years in Arlington, TX, Grand Prairie, TX, and Lowry Crossing, TX. Mary Jane volunteered at the Grand Prairie Police Department, and she was active in the Collin County Sheriff’s Office with Citizens on Patrol. She had a giving heart, and she gave substantial donations to the Samaritan Inn, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army, all in McKinney, TX. Mary Jane was also a member of the University of Texas at Arlington Edward E. Rankin Society.


She retired from Frito Lay Plano Sales Accounting/Payroll departments, and she was previously employed in the Payroll department at the University of Texas at Arlington. Mary Jane also modeled for Dillard’s Department Store in Arlington, Leonard’s Department Store, and Wrangler Jeans. She will be missed deeply by all those that knew her.


Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband, Robert Wagner; daughter, Kimberlee Slavik; son, Bryan Wagner; grandchildren, Zachary Slavik, Allissa Wagner, Alexander Wagner, and Brianna Wagner; brothers and sisters, Travis Martin, Jr., Victor Martin, Wanda Hailey, Garland Martin, Elizabeth Eivens, Charlene White, and Maxine Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis Martin, Sr. and Mary Ann (Martinez) Martin; and brothers, Glen Martin and Douglas Martin.


No services will be held, but in honor of Mary Jane, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
