Mary Elizabeth Von Tress Horton

On May Day 2011 Heaven opened its gates and welcomed Mary Elizabeth Von Tress Horton "Nanny". Born in Dallas on Exposition Ave. on July 19, 1915, she and her husband Kenneth Tobe Horton were some of the last of "The Fair Parkers". She is preceded by her husband of 60 years, Tobe & her parents Percy and Clara Mae Von Tress & brother Robert Von Tress. Mary and Tobe were graduates of Forest Ave. High School. Mary is survived by three children: Linda Horton & husband John Dean; Judy Horton & husband Richard Allen; Kenneth Weldon Horton & wife Ann. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren. Visitation is Tues. May 3, from 6-8 PM, services Wed. 5/4, 12 PM @ Eastgate Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either Young Life East Dallas or Billy Graham.
