Former Kimball County Nebraska resident, Frances Mary Burt Norberg died peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter in Mesquite TX on her 91st birthday.
There will be a celebration of her life Thursday Sept 6th at the home of her daughter where she lived since Dec 2008.
She was born on a farm near Pine Bluffs WY Sept 2,1921 to Earl and Clara (Christensen) Burt, graduated from Bushnell Public School May 1939 and married Donald Norberg on Sept. 1,1945 in Cheyenne, WY and was a farm wife southwest of Kimball until 1993 when Donald passed away.
She was a charter member of the Tidy Ten Club and Yucca Belles and Granny Craft Club and member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Bushnell and also attended First Baptist Church when she moved in Kimball in 1994. Helping people, visiting with family and friends and reading and writing letters were her favorite pastimes.
Survivors include her two daughters and son-in law, Cindy & Jim Florence of Mesquite TX , Anna Drennen of Hillsboro, Mo; Grandchildren: Francine & Chris Giles, Jimmie & Christina Florence, Skyler Lewis & Nicci & Ben Riley & great grandchildren: Jared, Jordon, Casey & Kory Giles and Leighton Riley, and sister-in laws Jeanne Burt and Joan Burt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ben Burt of Bushnell, Ervin Burt of Gretna and husband Donald Norberg, and daughter Donna Kittel of Mesquite TX and son-in-laws James Kittel of Denver CO, Randy Drennen of Hillsboro, MO & Gary Lewis of Kimball NE.
Cremation will take place in Garland TX. Interment will be at the Bushnell Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
