Mary Frances Hughes, age 89 of McKinney, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2022. She was born on March 7, 1932 in McKinney, Texas to Elmer and Ada Bell (Patterson) Wygal. Mary married George Hughes on April 10, 1964 in Colbert, Oklahoma. She worked as a supervisor for Raytheon for 35 years, and she was a member of the Church of God in McKinney.
Mary was an accomplished singer. She graced the stage with many legends, including Patsy Cline. After her retirement, she fulfilled a life-long dream and started a band called "The Good Ole Boys". The band included her son, Ronnie Tackett. She cherished her son, Greg Hughes, and her relationship with the Lord, as well as her many friends.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Tackett and Greg Hughes; one step-daughter, Debbie Hughes; two daughters-in-law, Dell Tackett and Kristina Hughes; four grandchildren, Misty Kay Green, Ashley Wallace, Elizabeth Cefalu, and Jennifer Harris; two great grandchildren, Everly Green and Olivia Green; four nieces, Julie Hinton Davenport, Deborah Hinton Cooper, Renee Tullous, and Rita Childress; and two nephews, Mark Hinton and Donnie Ray Byars.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ada Wygal; husband, George Hughes; four sisters, Wanda Byars, Opal Hinton, Ruby Clemmons, and Sammy Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.
