Mary Vernell Ferguson, age 84 passed away April 14, 2024, in McKinney, TX, with loved ones by her side. Mary was born January 9, 1940, in what was formerly known as Panama Canal Zone. Mary was the second oldest out of seven kids. She was the cherished daughter of Victor C, and Mary Aseneth (Bodden) Walters.
For Mary growing up in Panama Canal Zone, was extremely exciting and rewarding. As she ran through the jungles and climbed countless trees. Later as a teenager, her parents move to the Azores, Portugal where she graduated high school and moved on to become a wife, and mother.
When Mary married her second husband Steven Greer Ferguson, she truly found the love of her life. Together, they shared a bond built on love, mutual respect, and unwavering support.
Mary’s role as a mother knew no bounds. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to nurturing her children: Mary Anglin, Victor Stamper, Evelyn Tiseth, Paul Stamper, and Stephanie Kenney.
Mary’s life was also defined by her boundless love and compassion, particularly for animals. Her nurturing spirit and kindness extended beyond the human realm, touching the lives of countless furry friends.
With Mary’s passing she leaves behind son Victor Stamper and wife Laurie, daughter Evelyn Tiseth and husband Rick, son Paul Stamper and wife Michelle, stepdaughter Stephanie Kenney and husband David, brother Ralph Walters and wife Sharon, brother Kenneth Walters, sister Gladys Buckley and husband Charlie, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Steven G. Ferguson, and daughter Mary I. (Peaches) Anglin.
With Mary’s passing, it has left a void in our hearts. However, her legacy of love, compassion, memories, and devotion will stay with us forever. She is at peace and reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.
Memorial Service for family and close friends will be held, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bella Donna Chapel, 6641 Mediterranean Dr, McKinney, TX 75072.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family is requesting donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
