Mary Beth Boston (Beth) passed away on Wednesday May 20th, 2015. Mary Beth West Boston was born in Bryan Texas on June 4, 1937 to Mildred R. Strother West and Lewis H. West. The Family originally settled in Collin County on a Mexican Land Grant from 1832.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday May 23 at the McKinney location of Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 601 South Tennessee Street, McKinney, TX which will be preceded by a short 1:00 pm visitation at Smith and Sons. Burial will be at Pecan Grove Cemetery after the service.

Mary Beth lived in Collin County with her parents most of her life. Mary Beth was an integral part of her family and was the eldest of three children, with Robert L.(Bob) West who recently passed away who lived in Farmersville, and James T. West the youngest who lives in McKinney. She always displayed a warm, loving smile which was her charming way of dealing with all situations which might arise. A very strong willed Texas lady, she believed in the power of love in all her dealings with family, friends, and clients.
Mary Beth loved music and participated in Choir at First Baptist Church and in the McKinney High School Band playing the oboe and the saxophone in the orchestra and the marching band. Graduating in 1955, she immediately enrolled at the University of North Texas where she graduated with a degree in Interior Design in 1958. It was a profession she truly enjoyed for the rest of her life working on projects in North and South America and Europe. She was a lifelong member of the American Society of Interior Designers, ASID. She personally oversaw the ASID Dallas Service project of constructing a new Home for Battered and Abused Women and the design of the Milan, Italy Hilton Hotel.
She met Jerry Ray Boston of Pampa Texas while attending UNT and they married on December 26th, 1958 at first Baptist Church in McKinney, with Dr. Charles Myers officiating.
