Mary E. Block

Mary Evelyn Block, age 71, passed away peacefully on May 19th 2019. She was born September 23th, 1947 in Jacksonville, Texas to Fred and Mamie Childress. She married her best friend and love of her life, Gordon Lee Block in February 1968.

Mary was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Gran. She made friends everywhere she went and would stop and talk to anyone who would engage with her. Mary enjoyed a lengthy career at E-Systems/Raytheon before retiring in 2010

Mary is cherished and survived by her husband Gordon Block, mother Mamie Childress, her sisters Judy Snell and husband Chris and Ann Leach and husband Clifton, son Bryan Block and his wife Lisa, son Mark Block and his wife Kim, Seven grandchildren, McKenna, Kourtney, Morgan, Landry, Hayden, Peyton, and Taytum. In addition she is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Fred Childress, and Brother Ray Childress.
Those who loved her deeply will never forget her kindness, loyalty, grace, and undying love and caring she had for them.
