Marjorie Hughes-Roberts

July 27, 1947 — February 26, 2020

Marjorie Hughes-Roberts, 72 years young, Sachse, TX, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 26, 2020. She was a Bermuda native and lived in the USA for 53 years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, nana, aunt and friend as she didn't know a stranger. Ms. Marjorie had such an uncanny ability to make all her peers through work and personal life part of her family. She will always be remembered as a one of a kind, genuine individual full of love, laughter, kindness, thoughtfulness, creativity, honor to herself, her family and to God, as well as her magnificent generosity, vigilance, perseverance, and of course, her beautiful stubbornness that we all hold near and dear to our hearts.

Ms. Marjorie made her way to the states as a military spouse for 17 years, then retired from Bank of America after 26 years. After retirement, she followed her true passion, taking on a job at the Courtyard and St. Richard's Episcopal Preschool in Austin, Texas, where she worked and taught kids of all ages for a number of years. Her impact here was so immense and what she did with these kids was so memorable that even up until the day she passed, many of them and their parents stayed in touch with her, still referring to her as their own Grandma.

Ms. Marjorie was also famously known as the Craft Lady because she enjoyed puzzles, painting, knitting, jewelry making, and whatever the next Pinterest craft was that came along. She was also known for entertaining friends, family and making her signature 'Bermuda Mac and Cheese' for all family events. Everyone drooled over her delicious Banana bread and her grandchildren were always so amazed with her Mickey Mouse pancakes.

She was part of an RV club full of fellow retirees who also became so close to her. Ms. Marjorie could nearly always be found camping or traveling with her mate in her leisure time. She and Mr. Jim spent much of their time traveling outside the USA. They had gone to many national monuments, forests, parks, exploring as much of Earth's beauty and hidden gems that she and him had always dreamed of witnessing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Percy and Marjorie Saints, her sisters Diane Saints and Debra Martin, and her baby brother, Anthony Saints.

Those left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, are as follows: her loving husband of 16 years, Mr. James 'Jim' Roberts, her three children: daughters' Juanita R. Couch & husband Michael H. Couch, Caroline B. Puente & husband Manuel Puente Jr., and her son Fred Allen Hughes Jr., her grandchildren: Jennifer I. Snyder & Daniel Pool, Nicholas Puente & wife Lucero Puente, Joshua Snyder & wife Emily Snyder, Jacob Puente & fiancée Gina Soto, and, Kimber L. Couch, finally her great grandchildren: Trinity R. Snyder, Mia I. Puente, Tanner M. Pool, Gracyn R. Drewek-Snyder, Raeleigh A. Pool, and Jasper T. Dowell. Additional family include, her sister Audrey De Silva, her brother Roger & wife May Saints, brother in-law John Roberts & wife Nedra Roberts and many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She had an endearing love for the Hughes family as they meant so much to her.

You will be missed greatly but never forgotten
