- Marion Francis Godwin -
On January 30,1923 a son was born to Minnie and Joseph Well Godwin he was named Marion Francis Godwin one of thirteen brothers and sisters.Our Dad was one of the greatest generation having served in the U.S.Navy during WWII. Dad was a metal smith 1st Class P.O. his duty was on the Pacific island of Siapan.
Our family moved to Richland Washington in 1953 as took a job at the Hanford nuclear project as a steam fitter which he retired from. Marion was an avid fisherman and spent as much time as possible on the Columbia river fishing for stealhead trout. Dad enjoyed tying fly's and catching fish with his own creations. Dad had many interests including playing the violin. He wasn't content to just play he began to repair broken violins for people which led to hand crafting many violins from scratch. He never sold one of his violins they were given to family to members. He loved going to yard sales and buying broken violins which he repaired and sold.
Above all things our Dad was a Christian and loved the LORD. He was a deacon of our church family. Dad shower his family with many gifts but greatest of all was teaching the pathway JESUS paved for salvation. Dad loved singing gospel songs and putting his family first.
Dad was proceeded in death by his parent's Minnie and Joseph brothers Albert,Jack,Virgil,James,Olin and sisters Emma,Effie,Ruby,Margie and two infant sisters,two children Randall Lee and Timothy Paul Godwin,two grandsons Michael Alan Godwin and Eric Gale Lorance. Dad has one surviving brother Ernest Godwin of Princeton Tx.
There are three surviving children all of Farmersville Tx. Curtis Godwin,Brenda Lorance and Kathy Ammerman.there are many grandchildren,great grand children and great great grandchildren from Texas,Oregon, Alaska, and Maryland.

Visitation 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Princeton at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home on Hwy. 380.
The Funeral Service is 2:00 pm Monday, April 27, 2015 in Princeton at the First Baptist Church, 511 Jefferson Avenue.
Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Texas
