Mario Hernan Cardona

Mario H. Cardona, 62, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin and friend, passed away on January 24, 2019 in McKinney, Texas.

Born on June 13, 1956 in Armenia, Colombia to Arcesio and Fanny Cardona. He emigrated to Queens, New York in January 1966 with his parents, brothers and sister. He attended Thomas Edison High School in Queens, New York and subsequently served in the United States Navy from October 1973 to April 1980. He worked at Sikorski Aircraft in Connecticut for over 30 years, from 1978 to 2010. Mario also served in the US Naval Reserve for over four years.

The pain of Mario's untimely passing can only be comforted by the knowledge that he is safe with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and we will see him again in a glorious reunion.

Mario is survived by his parents, Arcesio and Fanny Cardona; as well as his daughters, Brenda Billups and Francheska Charbonier, his son Mario Andrew Cardona, his grandchildren Caleb Billups, Mathew Billups, Jonah Billups, Emilia Cardona and Ryatt Evan as well as numerous other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9AM to 11AM on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at Charles Smith Funeral Home in McKinney Texas. Mass to follow will be offered at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 12PM the same day.
