Marilyn Alma Beam Herrera, 72, passed away on September 9, 2019. She was born February 22, 1947 in Burlington, Coffey County, Kansas.
Marilyn and Zachary Herrera were married on August 2, 1963 at First Baptist Church in Burlington, Kansas. Marilyn dropped out of school to get married but continued learning throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, 1 month, and 7 days, Zachary Herrera and children; Curtis and wife Tammy Herrera of Richardson, Texas; Mindy Vogel and husband Ty of Allen, Texas; and Jesse and his wife Mary Johnson Herrera of Wylie, Texas; sister-in-law, LaVerne Beam of Independence, Kansas; brother, Danny Beam and wife Lorna Smith Beam of Independence, Kansas; grandchildren Morgan and Turner Herrera; Maguire and Gehrig Vogel; and Levi Herrera; and loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Ada Wood Beam and her brother Roy Beam.
Marilyn got a nursing degree from Grayson County College in 1987; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Management from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 1997; and a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Planning from Amberton University in 2001.
Marilyn was an essential part of the lives of all of her family and her passing will leave a void in the life of each of her family members.
