Marie Lavonne May

Marie Lavonne May after losing her battle to cancer was received by our Heavenly Father on March 29, 2017 in Carrollton, Texas with her three sisters, Margaret Gehrke, Susan Romans, and Penny Sallay by her side.

She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska in 1954 to Edward and Margaret Sullivan. Marie had four sisters and one brother; Margaret Gehrke and husband Ronald Gehrke of Iowa, Vicki Sullivan of Texas, Susan Romans of Texas, Russell Sullivan and wife Debra Sullivan of Kansas, and Penny Sallay and husband Jeffrey Sallay of Texas. Marie is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Edward and Margaret Sullivan, husband Tommy May, sister Vicki Sullivan, and her brother Randy Sullivan.

She had four sons David Sullivan and wife Jenny Sullivan, Greg Sullivan, Joseph Haven and Michael Sallay. She was blessed with six nieces, five nephews, four great nieces, five great nephews, one granddaughter and one grandson.

Marie worked at a florist shop and loved to dance. We are certain she danced her way to God’s Kingdom.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 2:00 pm at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 N Central Expressway, Allen, Texas 75013. A luncheon will follow the service.

The family sends our thanks to the Texas Oncology and Radiology Department, Palative Care, and the hospital staff at Baylor Scott White, McKinney, Texas. We also send our thanks to Vitas Hospice Center in Carrollton, Texas for their outstanding service and help to Marie.

In Lieu of flowers, family request donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Marie May.
