Maria Carolina Cordova

Maria Carolina Cordova, age 92 of Garland, TX, passed away November 26, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 26, 1924 in Karnes City, TX to Marcelino and Maria Carolina (Torres) Alvizo. Maria married Rafael Cordova on July 21 1943, and they were married for 73 years before his passing in November of this year. Maria spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her loving husband and their twelve children. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland.

Maria is survived by her 7 sons, Rafael Cordova, Jr., Oscar Cordova, George Cordova, Juan Cordova, Cosme Cordova, Omar Cordova and Richard Cordova; 4 daughters, Josefina Gonzalez, Odilia Perez, Lucia Palomo and Lus Cordova; 65 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rafael Cordova; and 1 son, Noe Cordova.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel in Sachse. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett.
