Margaret Jane Smolka
Born December 23rd, 1939.
Passed away August 27th, 2019.
Margaret was born in Sachse, Texas to Alma and Leo Smolka. She grew up in Sachse and attended Garland schools graduating from Garland High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Sachse and Wylie and taught Sunday school at both for years. She loved traveling with the church and went on several mission trips with them. She worked for many years as a receptionist at the Wylie Clinic and for Plano East Senior High in the Special Education department, retiring from there. Margaret was a special, special lady who loved to laugh, sing, and joke around and her sense of humor was infectious. She loved Elvis, the color yellow and butterflies and everyone knew that about her. She had many names she went by and would be happy to answer to any of them when called upon. ...Auntie...Sister...Marg and Maggie to name a few. She was loved by all who came in contact with her and will be missed by the many that did.
She is preceded in death by her father; Leo Smolka; mother; Alma Hutson Smolka; and her brother; Douglas Leo Smolka.
She is survived by her sister in law Amie Smolka; niece Lanita King and husband Jimmy King; niece Gina Runnels and husband Steve Runnels; great niece Kambrie Sanderfer and husband Travis Sanderfer; great nephew Kaeson King and wife Maggie King; great niece Brooklyn Korinek and Husband Westin Korinek; great niece Payton Koerner and husband Donald Koerner; and great great nieces and nephew Memphis Sanderfer, Aubrey King, Carver Korinek and Campbell Koerner.
