Margaret Stephanie Smithhart

Margaret Stephanie Ruscoe Smithhart, age 79, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Marge, better known to her family as Margie, and her grandchildren as Mame was born July 24, 1937. She was born in Lorain, Ohio, and grew up there. She was accepted into the American Airlines flight attendant school, and graduated in August of 1957 to become an AA flight attendant. She moved to Dallas shortly after that where she met Jack Smithhart. They married in 1960. She had two sons and became a fulltime mother. She dedicated her life to raising her sons, and did a wonderful job.

Once her sons got older, she decided to get back into the work force. She started working for a travel agency that took her to fabulous destinations all over the world. While doing this, she decided that she wanted to be a nurse as well. So, she went to nursing school while she wasn’t traveling. She graduated from nursing school, and worked at various hospitals and minor emergency facilities while continuing to work for the travel agency from time to time.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Steven Ruscoe. She is survived by her sons Steve and Ken (wife Kim and children Brittany and Morgan) as well as her sister Mary Kay Ritchie, husband Dick, daughters Lydia Randazzo (husband Mike and children Tiffany and Trevor) and Karen VanLandingham, (husband Jimmy and children Randy and Jennifer).

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 @ 2:00 pm at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, 950 Trails Parkway, Garland TX. 75043. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in her Memory.
