With profound sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Lowry, devoted wife, mother and friend on August 28th 2022. She was 75 years old.
Margaret was born to Carl Thomas Jones and Marjorie Ann (Moreland) Jones on January 20th 1947 in Minden, TX. After a few early years in East Texas, her family moved to Ft. Worth and she grew up in the town of White Settlement, TX.
She played drums in the marching band at Brewer High School and was loved by many friends there. The oldest of 7 children, she became a natural caregiver to help her mother with her siblings. From that grew a love for children and fostering their need to learn and play.
She left home at 18 years old to spread her wings and start a career. She landed a job at Texas Instruments working on circuit boards in their clean rooms. Shortly after moving to Dallas, she would meet the love of her life, Wayne Lowry. They met through friends, but it was technically a blind date. Wayne knew that day she was the one for him; Margaret warmed to the idea over time. Wayne also worked at Texas Instruments as a programmer. It was meant to be.
They married on March 8th 1969. After a few years of marriage, they moved to The Netherlands (Wayne on special project for T.I.). While living abroad they had an amazing time visiting Europe and they had their first child, Jennifer. Margaret thrived as a mother.
Austin, TX would be their next home and they welcomed a son, Daniel. The family would eventually settle in Plano, TX. A third child, a daughter named Nicole, arrived in 1980. Margaret was a stay at home mother to the three children. When Nicole was 3, Margaret started an in home day care and really enjoyed it. She kept mostly teachers' kids as word of mouth spread about how excellent her care was. Eventually she found a job outside of the home working for more than 15yrs as a teacher's aid in private church preschools.
After purchasing 12 beautiful acres outside of the town Princeton TX, Margaret and Wayne built their dream home. In this home lots of love, laughter and fellowship were shared.
The last 14 years she has worked for the Princeton School district as a driver for special needs kids who needed to attend classes in Plano. She always had so much patience and love for every child she cared for or encountered. Her children and grandchildren certainly benefited from her acts of service, discipline, and love.
Most of her adult life she has been focused on others, however she loved to bake, sew and go to antique stores. Margaret's faith in Christ was central to her life. She loved attending church, women's group meetings, and she loved singing the old hymns she grew up with. Margaret's priority was to raise her children as Christians, growing up to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, and she continued to serve the Lord her entire life.
Margaret preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Nicole Lowry Conlon. She is survived by her husband Wayne L. Lowry, daughter Jennifer Lowry and her boyfriend Tim Sommers, son Daniel W.
