Lynn Flesher

July 24, 1951 — May 25, 2022

Lynn Flesher was born July 24, 1951 in Colby, Kansas to William Thomas Flesher and Dorothy Herndon Flesher. He married Trae Ellen Danis on June 1, 1991 in Greenville, Texas. After a four-year battle with colon cancer, Lynn died peacefully in Kennedale, Texas on May 25, 2022. Lynn was a resident of Celina, Texas for 30 years and a Banker for 50 years, 2 months, 1 week, and 3 days - not that he was counting! He most recently attended New City Presbyterian Church in Celina until cancer robbed him of his strength and stamina.

He is survived by his wife, Trae of Celina, Texas, his father-in-law Ted Assiter (and wife, Corky) of Lubbock, Texas and several cousins in Oklahoma.

Preceding him in death are his father, "Bill" Flesher, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, his mother, Dorothy Adams, of Princeton, Texas, unborn child, Chris, his mother-in-law, Mary Jo Bivin (and husband, David) of Milam, Texas.

Lynn lived with his grandparents in Como, Texas until 4th grade. The rural atmosphere gave Lynn and his band of friends plenty of time to ride their bikes, shoot BB guns and play sandlot baseball. After moving to Dallas, he continued playing baseball after school until he started throwing papers for the Dallas Morning News and
Dallas Times Herald. He graduated from North Dallas High School in 1969. While attending El Centro College, he worked part-time as an Encoding Clerk at First National Bank of Dallas. His hard work, aptitude, and dedication through several bank mergers and acquisitions was rewarded with numerous promotions, patents, and awards through the years. Lynn was still employed at Bank of America as Vice-President, Operations Project Consultant, Check Operations Team when he passed.

Anything Baseball was Lynn's favorite way to spend free time and he especially enjoyed being a season ticket holder for the Frisco Rough Riders. Most of Lynn and
Trae's vacations included a major or minor league game, tour of a ballpark, or sport museum of some sort. For 'guy time 'he often headed to the Cactus League Spring Training games until his health declined. When reading, it was usually about baseball, and often about the heroes of the Negro Leagues. If the Rangers weren't playing, he always rooted for the underdog. He followed football from high school to professional, college basketball, as well as high school and collegiate
girls' volleyball.

Lynn enjoyed travelling! Before he married, he would spend a week or so with his dad each summer taking in the sights wherever the wind took them. His job at the bank provided numerous opportunities to see the States and he looked forward to showing Trae around when she joined him for 'conversion' weekends. When cruising, he liked trying the different cuisines, laying on the beach, and testing his skills with the quarter-pusher machines in the casino.

Lynn became a Christian in October of 1990. He was ordained a deacon in the Baptist church in 1992, serving on three deacon boards and as Chairman of Deacons at First Baptist Church, Celina Texas. "How Great Thou Art" was the song he chose for his ordination.

Lynn and Trae participated in two mission trips to Canada sponsored by Texas Baptist Men and also joined the group to help build married housing units at
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort worth. He spent vacation time during 5 different summers to work the Marketing truck for Super Summer youth
Discipleship camps. Following hurricane Ida, he spent a couple of weeks serving to rebuild homes in Slidell, Louisana. He opened his home to various youth
group activities. He was a Charter Member of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas where he participated in the weekly Men's Bible study and sponsored
several youths for Sports Camps. He was a member of "The Anvil" - a group of Celina men that met weekly for Bible study, sponsored youth activities following high
school football games, and assembled holiday food baskets each year. GraceBridge Retail and Food Pantry was birthed from their service.

Isaiah 40:31-
But those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
is Lynn's 'lifetime' Bible verse.

"Amazing Grace" is another favorite hymn.
