Lynn Elaine English was born July 17, 1950 in Dallas, TX, to Jack & Elaine Phelps. She passed away May 15, 2021 at the age of 70. Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Jack Phelps, and brother, Leslie Phelps.
Lynn is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Jack English, to whom she was married 50 years, and by her children – daughter, Amanda Light and husband Michael of Sachse, TX; son, Aaron English of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Allison Watson and husband Brett of Brownwood, TX.
Lynn is also survived by her mother, Elaine Phelps of Garland, TX; sister, Lee Phelps of Dallas, TX; sister, Louise Pettigrew of Lone Oak, TX; sister, Libby Odom of Garland, TX; sister-in-law, Marilyn Phelps of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren - Morgan English, Avery Light, Abigail Light, Maddigan English; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lynn attended Freeman Elementary, Bussey Junior High, and Garland High School (Class of '68) in Garland, TX. She went on to attend East Texas State University in Commerce, TX where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1972. She retired after 27 years of teaching.

She was a jigsaw puzzle enthusiast.
She was an avid fisherwoman. Her favorite place to fish was the White River in Bull Shoals, AR.
She enjoyed traveling where she visited all 50 State Capitol buildings, visited all 13 Presidential libraries from Herbert Hoover to George W. Bush, and waded in all 5 of the Great Lakes. Her favorite city to visit in the U.S. was Washington, DC, where she visited 8 times. Her favorite city outside of the U.S. was London, England.
Lynn accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at age 10 at First Baptist Church, Garland, TX. She was mission-minded and went on mission trips from Canada to Brazil and parts in between. Lynn was a former Director of Mission Friends for Dallas Baptist Association.
A Celebration of Life for Lynn will begin at 1:30pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church, located at 801 W Ave D in Garland, TX. Visitation with the family will be held at First Baptist Church immediately following the Celebration of Life.
