Lloyd Hickman Henderson

May 10, 1933 — September 11, 2017

The city of Sachse mourns as our precious Lloyd went home on September 11th
after a courageous battle with cancer. Please join us to celebrate his life on Saturday 9/16/17 @ 2pm.
After serving 4 years in the Navy, Lloyd attended Oklahoma Baptist University where he
graduated with a Major in History. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
where he received his Masters Degree in Religious Education, then attended the University of
Texas at Arlington where he received a Masters Degree in Urban Affairs. After serving and directing inner-city community centers in El Paso and Ft. Worth, he made a career change and became the City Manager for Sanger, TX. He then came to Sachse, Texas as the City Manager for 14 years, from 1984-1998. He fell in love with Sachse and stayed very active in the community, serving on many boards and was instrumental in creating the Sachse Historical Society, where he served for 28 years.
Lloyd is survived by his companion and best friend, Sandy Rodrigues of Carrollton; his daughter; Leigh Anne Neese, son-in-law Roy, of Ft. Worth; his son Lane Henderson, daughter-in-law Michelle, of Corinth; grandchildren; Andrew Dial of Carrollton; Terra Hamilton of Austin; Aaron Henderson of Austin; Amber Henderson of Corinth. And the many friends of Sachse that will all miss him dearly.
A memorial is set for Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00PM at Charles Smith Funeral Home, Sachse, TX. A small reception will follow at the Sachse Historical Museum. In lieu of flowers, please honor Lloyd with a donation to the N Dallas Shared Ministries or the Sachse Historical Society.Services entrusted to Charles W. Smith & Son's Sachse, Texas.
