Lisa Carol Kennedy

Lisa Carol Kennedy, age 45 of Wylie, TX passed away on August 14, 2016 in Taos, NM. She was born August 29, 1970 in Dallas, TX to H. Roger and Martha Lou (Mayes) Hughes. Lisa married Matthew Kennedy on July 28, 1990 in DeSoto, TX at the First United Methodist Church. Nine months later, she gave birth to her first daughter while continuing to support Matthew through his college career. Lisa became part of the US Navy family when Matthew earned his commission in 1992. Her strength, courage, and love allowed the family to endure multiple relocations and deployments, and they celebrated the birth of her second daughter in 1995. Lisa was a pre-school teacher before choosing to stay home and care for her family full time. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Pensacola, FL before returning to the Dallas area 17 years ago.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Matthew Kennedy; two daughters, Alicia Edds and husband, Christian and Jennifer Kennedy; parents, H. Roger and Martha Lou Hughes; sister, Laurie Hughes; and mother-in-law, Diane Tanalski Kennedy.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 9, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel in Sachse with Pastor Jim Everidge officiating.
