Linda Smith Griffin

April 10, 1943 — March 7, 2025

Rowlett

Linda Smith Griffin was born in Dallas, Texas on April 10th, 1943. She was raised by her loving and faithful parents, Horace and Virginia Roberts of Terrell, Texas. She is survived by her siblings: brother Bill Naylor of Sachse, Texas and sister Sandra Covington of Mainesville, Ohio and dearly departed brother Donnie Roberts of Plano, Texas and their children and grandchildren,

Linda's lifelong mission and dedication was to guide, comfort and provide for her family, friends and anyone else in need that crossed her path.

She peacefully crossed over to her new life on March 7th, 2025 at the home she and her husband Jim shared in Rowlett, Texas.

Linda is survived by her children from her marriage to Kenneth R Smith, loving son Kenneth Bradley Smith of Rowlett, Texas and daughter Lori Kay Nelson with her two children, Veronica Amanda and Forrest Neal, of Dallas, Texas. She also loved and raised Ken's two children Robert Ray and Jane Careen. Linda was married to her loving husband James M. Griffin on July 4th, 1987 on a hill overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard. Linda got the most joy from, singing, studying the Bible, and feeding others. Her most powerful gift was that of prayer through the Holy Spirit. Music was a big part of her life as she sang and listened to music from the 50's, country music like Willie Nelson, popular artists Johnny Mathis, Opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, R&B artist Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, but her greatest love of all was gospel; from singers such as The Gaither's, Mahalia Jackson, Johnny Cash and Elvis. Her favorite movie and song was "The Rose" by Bette Midler. She loved to visit Galveston Island with her family to watch the waves roll in. Something that gave her peace was listening to the sound of the falling rain, to make the flowers grow.

Now she is an eternal love and light to us all. A service to celebrate Linda Griffin's life will be held on Friday, March 14th, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Sparkman-Hillcrest (7405 W Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX) in the Acacia Gardens , officiated by her son Brad.
