Linda Darlene Aston, devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully February 23, 2025 at the age of 79 years surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Linda was born November 14, 1945, at Florence Nightingale Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to Flora Mae Perkins and George Washington Hargrove, and was the youngest of 9 children.
Linda grew up with her family in Rockwall, Texas, graduated from Garland High School in 1964, and studied business, accounting, finance and real estate at Eastfield College and Richland College in the Dallas area. Linda worked as an Accountant and Bookkeeper in the Lumber industry for the majority of her career. She was also an entrepreneur and co-owned a fabric store in Rowlett, Texas with her sister Baby.
Linda married Scotty Aston in 1984 and moved to Rowlett where she was back in her country lifestyle, enjoying all of her animals, sewing, quilting, gardening, making stained glass, cooking, entertaining her family and loved ones, and sharing her everything with everyone. She relished in sharing and teaching others of her passions. She loved diamonds, guns and tools and most of all her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Flora Mae & George Washington Hargrove, husband Scotty Aston, her son Lanny Tomlin, brothers, Clinton Hargrove and Johnny Hargrove, sisters, Janelle Gracy, Georgia Mae Gee, Delores “Baby” Collendrina and Nelda McCord, nephews Kenny and Rick Gracy, and nieces Tina Looney and Angela Collendrina.
Linda is survived by her former husband Larry Dwaine Tomlin, daughter Lisa Darlene Cox and grandson Evan James Cox, daughter Lori Deanne Burks and husband Steve, grandchildren Chelsie Reber, Josh Burks and wife Kaylee, great grands Nathan, Kaiden and Hadlee, Stepsons Greg Aston, Mark Aston and wife Susan, grandchildren Brooke, Peyton and Brady Aston and eldest grandson Conner Brent, and brothers, George Hargrove and wife Donna, Dick Hargrove and wife Charlotte, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
