Linda Ashley was born in Marks, MS, September 12, 1950, and grew up in Memphis, TN. A resident of Wylie, TX. She stepped into glory on January 11, 2022, at home after a recent diagnosis of cancer surrounded by her loved ones. Linda married the love of her life, Tony Ashley on August 16, 1968, and they were the proud parents of four children. Their children have given them seven grandchildren that were so precious to her. She also loved many dogs through the years – her own as well as her grand dogs that her children have adopted.
Linda moved with her family to Texas in 1982 and considered Texas her home. She was honored to work with a wonderful group of people at the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for 17 years and retired in September 2017.
After retirement she embraced her new role as full time grandma and treasured every minute she had with her grandchildren.
Linda loved taking road trips. It didn't matter where, she just loved to travel the back roads and seeing the sights. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She had a smile that would light up the whole room. Sometimes a hug from her would feel like she took away some of your worries. She loved to help...period. No matter what was needed, she was always willing to lend a hand. She loved working for the Native American Clubs with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. It made her happy to know she was helping kids in need.
Her generosity and love of people still live on in her children and grandchildren. What an awesome legacy for the many lives she has touched.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America in memory of Linda Ashley.
