March 20, 1939 — November 19, 2019

Leon Dwayne Thomas, age 80 of Princeton, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on November 19, 2019. Leon was born on March 20, 1939 in Bonham, Texas to Leon Edison and Floy (Eldridge) Thomas. He served in the Army and the Army National Guard from 1955 -1961. Leon followed in his fathers footsteps and began repairing lawnmowers in the early 1960's. He worked in the industry for more than thirty five years, and retired from Richardson Saw & Lawnmower. After his retirement, he still repaired lawnmowers at his home to stay busy. Leon was known as "The Lawnmower Man", because he was great at his job, and he earned himself a loyal customer base. On October 24, 1978 Leon married the love of his life, Sheila. They were married for 36 years before she preceded him in death in 2014.

Leon loved to laugh and crack jokes. His laughter was contagious, and his smile was warm and caring. When he laughed or smiled his eyes would light up and sparkle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Leon was a good, Christian man who loved his family with all of his heart.

Leon is survived by six children, Gerry Thomas, Michael Thomas, Cindy Miller, Sharon Miller, Eddie Miller, and Lori Stevens-Rawlinson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tommy Thomas and Bill Thomas; one sister, Darlene Bateman; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Thomas; son, Randy Thomas; father, Leon Edison Thomas, mother, Floy Pearson, and step-father, Claude Pearson.
