Larry Mack Wilmeth

Larry Mack Wilmeth, of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away at his home on Monday, June 5, 2017. He was 71.

Larry was born on March 14, 1946 in Terrell, Texas, and was a mechanic by trade.

Larry lived a life of cars and hot rods on the track, including NASCAR and his beloved Chevelle. He took this love to the level of owning a few repair shops during his career.

Larry was an overcomer. Following a stroke on May 31, 1994, he adapted to life without the use of the right side of his body. While he could no longer be in the garage, Larry continued living well for himself until 2006 when his daughter Sandi moved in with him and became his caregiver.

Larry also professed his faith in Christ. He and Sandi attended Circle C Cowboy Church in Mount Pleasant as often as his health would allow.

He is preceded in death by: his daughter, Amy; his father, Austin Wilmeth; mother and step-father, William and Nola Faye Hart; sister, Karen Kay; and half-brother, L. B. Wilmeth.

Cherishing memories of Larry are: his daughter, Laura Ann Wilmeth; his son, Benny Wayne Wilmeth; his daughter, Sandi Louise Wilmeth; and his daughter, Kimberly Wilmeth; six grandchildren, Kylie, Tiffany, Margaret, Cody, Daniel and Brianna; five great-grandchildren, Madyson, Landon, Carson, Jay and Sara; and his half-sister, Patsy Starr.

Family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in McKinney. Graveside services will be at 10:30AM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney with Pastor Harvey Morris officiating.
