Larry Paul Sweeney was born in Vernon, Texas on February 19, 1949 and passed away on October 15, 2024.  

Larry graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967 and began his long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (later AT&T) in 1970.  At AT&T Larry was an Executive Director over certification of new technologies for use by AT&T employees for the enterprise, including PC's (hardware and software standards), cell phones, video and audio conferencing.  He retired in 2013 after more than forty years with the company.  He enjoyed playing golf in retirement. 

Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years Paula Suzanne "Sue" Hawthorne Sweeney.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Eugene and Ellen Maxine Rose Sweeney and this brother Kenneth Wayne Sweeney.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons 2925 5th St., Sachse, Tx 75048.

A Family Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sachse Cemetery 3033 6th St. Sachse, Texas 75048
