Larry Kent Sandberg

Larry Kent Sandberg, at age 74, passed away on December 24, 2016 from a massive stroke. He is survived by his wife, Nita Sandberg of Sachse, TX; daughters, Michele Sandberg of Garland, TX and Erika Hackworth and husband, Shawn of Sherman, TX; brother, David Sandberg of Oregon; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucy Bujalski; and brother, Dennis Sandberg.

Larry was born on November 12, 1942 in Crosby, ND to Nels and Ila (Poling) Sandberg. He was raised in Crosby, but as an adult, he moved to Texas. He spent many years in the Garland area, but had lived in Sachse for 10 ½ years before his passing. Larry graduated from the University of North Texas, and he was in the health care industry. He married Juanita Rivera on April 30, 2000 in Irving, TX. Larry was a good Christian man and served as an elder at North Texas Fellowship in YHWH. Larry enjoyed studying and reading the Bible.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2017 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel with Marvin Wilson officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, following the service, at 1:15 p.m. at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
